Sunday Sermon-How to Have a Happy New Year

January2

Philippians 3:12-16

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let
us be of the same mind.

1)Remember you are not “there” yet. Life is a journey.
2)There needs to be effort on out part to move forward toward the things God has in store for us and to follow Him closely.
3)Forget about the past: that is, leave the past in the past. Quit looking back.
4)Anticipate the future and keep your eye on the goal.
5)Count on God to reveal to you what you need to know, when you need to know it.

All points are good. We really need to apply #5 to our situation with Mother.

I'm Cass. I am a full-time mom to eight great children, a Christian and a blogger. I'm also a knitter, a reader and a movie watcher. And a collector of eclectic oddities.

For the first time in 18 and a half years, I have my own little corner again. Somewhere along the way, I seem to have lost myself, and now that I realize I'm missing, I'm on the look out for me. You maybe don't know what that means, but then again, maybe you do. Regardless, this is where I'll be when I'm not being a mother or a knitter. This is where I'll be just me. And if no one ever reads it, that's ok. I'll know it's here.
