  1. Grab the book closest to you.
  2. Open to page 123, look down to the 5th sentence.
  3. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog.
  4. Include the title and the author’s name.

Ignoring the math book that is actually closest to me, I’m going to reach to my left and pick up the first thing I hit on the second shelf. (The top shelf holds scout manuals and such.)

“It was such a lovely festive atmosphere that it made me forget all about our bedroom in the back stacked floor-to-ceiling with all the leftover stuff that had cluttered the house.

“All went well with the open house until a small group of friends reminded me of the one room that wasn’t quite done yet. They asked, ‘Can we sneak back to see the rest of the house?’ ”

This is from Seasons of a Mother’s Heart by Sally Clarkson. I think it just got promoted to next read status.

I'm Cass. I am a full-time mom to eight great children, a Christian and a blogger. I'm also a knitter, a reader and a movie watcher. And a collector of eclectic oddities.

For the first time in 18 and a half years, I have my own little corner again. Somewhere along the way, I seem to have lost myself, and now that I realize I'm missing, I'm on the look out for me. You maybe don't know what that means, but then again, maybe you do. Regardless, this is where I'll be when I'm not being a mother or a knitter. This is where I'll be just me. And if no one ever reads it, that's ok. I'll know it's here.
