I just saw the blurb for the local apple festival on the Ellijay real estate site. Ellijay is a town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia. I would have never thought of apples as a southern crop, but they’ve been growing apples there since the 1920s. I had been planning to explore North Carolina festivals over on my North Carolina blog, and this kinda spurs me on. It’s interesting to find out about the things people celebrate, isn’t it? Guess I can add that to my list of things to do today, too.
