Manic Monday May 14

Is it easier for you to forgive or to forget?
Do you believe people can change?
Has life made you more cynical or more hopeful?

I can forgive a lot easier than I can forget. I spent many years forgiving the same people for the same offenses over and over. I finally learned that it’s less painful to just watch your back than to keep forcing myself to forget what they kept doing. Not a very Christian attitude, I know, but I get tired of being hurt just like any body else.

In spite of that, I do believe people can change. I have changed a lot since the aforementioned events began some 20 years ago. They’ve done some changing, too. And eventually, I believe we will all be changed, just as He said.

I am both more cynical and more hopeful. At this point in my life, I find that the ability to change gives me more hopefulness, but the reality is that few of us do, and that makes me more cynical. I know longer believe that everyone is “a good person underneath”. No, some people are just plain rotten to the core.

Dustin, even as I was typing that, I thought it sounded funny, but that it was as accurate as I could be, so I left it.

I'm Cass. I am a full-time mom to eight great children, a Christian and a blogger. I'm also a knitter, a reader and a movie watcher. And a collector of eclectic oddities.

For the first time in 18 and a half years, I have my own little corner again. Somewhere along the way, I seem to have lost myself, and now that I realize I'm missing, I'm on the look out for me. You maybe don't know what that means, but then again, maybe you do. Regardless, this is where I'll be when I'm not being a mother or a knitter. This is where I'll be just me. And if no one ever reads it, that's ok. I'll know it's here.
