Do you know how tinctures are made? According to wikipedia, “In medicine, a tincture is an alcoholic extract (e.g. of a herb) or solution of a non-volatile substance (e.g. of iodine, mercurochrome.)” I had to check, so I would know what I was talking about here, LOL! I hate to sound stupid, and yes, I will even do research in order to avoid it.

Now, the herbal tincture has a long history, beginning in Europe. The specific tinctures sold by PhytoSolution are actually imported from Herboristerie de la Place Clichy in Paris. The history of that company, which I linked to, is quite interesting, and I invite you to read it. YMMV, but both history and traditional (read that non-Western) medicine interest me, so I enjoyed it.

I’ve used homepathic remedies for my self and my family with great success, and my midwife has given me a couple of herbal tinctures to use after childbirth, but it’s not an area that I have any sort of expertise in. It is one I am interested in however, and I will probably make time to study it one day. The product descriptions do sound interesting, and I firmly believe that natural products are generally better for us than man-made pharmaceuticals for some maladies.

I guess after that last statement I also need to say that I am not a doctor, and my statements are not intended as medical advise, nor have they been approved by the FDA. Liability, you know.

You know, I have a list of things I should do, and I actually have time to do it, but–I don’t wanna. It’s hot, and I just want to sit and pretend to read while I actually take a nap. See, if I act like I a, actually napping, everyone suddenly decides to be noisy. Of course, if I try to read, then they need to talk to me.

Ok, I am going to clean something. Now.

I posted yesterday about craziness and frazzlement. I think I have a plan. I’m not going to tell you what it is yet, lest I jinx it, but……..I think it’s gonna be good.

And by the way, I’m still a steamed Cass. Not because of what I posted about yesterday, but because I just ate dinner. In my west facing dining area. The one that has no window blinds, because I like the way the sunlight looks coming in the windows in the early morning. Umm, I may need to rethink that decision until December or so.

If it was longer than a cereal box or an advertisement, did it turn out to be worth your while?

I read a romance when Drama was in NICU, because I needed a book I could throw down without a second thought. My uncle graciously brought me some books, and it was among them.

Worth my while? It served it’s purpose: my sanity remained intact, so I guess I’d have to say yes.

Yeah, it’s been crazy, ya’ll. I keep meaning to get over here and talk about stuff, but……….yeah. I am feeling so rushed that I’m frazzled, and I don’t know why. Well, I do know why. It seems like there is more to do than I can possibly accomplish, and in truth, that’s the case. I have to keep reminding myself to just do the next thing. But I am truly tired of feeling like I’ve got a tiger by the tail constantly, ykwim?

I’m still trying to clean my house, and am more or less treading water on that. I’m doing better getting the other necessary stuff done, too, but……..is it just the way women are, that we feel like no matter how much we do, it’s not enough as long as anything remains undone? Busy-ness, Busy-ness. A lot of Martha there, and what I really need is some Mary.

Now here’s an interesting site! The friend that told me about it thinks she’s too old for it, but I disagree with her assessment. I think I’m only as old as I feel, and that’s no more than 23, and so this site is for ME! I just saw this wedding survival kit, and it’s on my “I should get this” list. You keep one of those, don’t you? I found out when I followed a link for wedding cameras. Of course, you know I am not getting married, but minus the extra wedding bands, this is a neat little kit that’s suitable for any time you need to travel. And remember, I’m going to be traveling to Vegas in November. Seriously, go check out the list of what’s included, and I know you will agree with me! The case is just 10″ w x 6 1/2″ h x 3 1/2″ w, so it would easily tuck in to the corner of a large suitcase. And it’s metal, so it won’t get squashed, either.

Sometimes I play on the internet. I bet you knew that already, though didn’t you? I made this today at Customink.com. It was fun and easy to do, too. I did fight with the fonts a bit, but that’s just me. I have to see all the options, you know.

They have several shirts to choose from, and *cough*, I even saw customizable underwear. I played with that for a little while, too, but I just didn’t think I could bring myself to post a picture of drawers here, ykwim? But, “Bloggers are Hawt” underwear would be kinda rockin’.
