The Search Engines say

I was looking at my keyword hits this morning. This site does ok (second page) for “humor in times of crisis”, “midlife blogs” and an awesome #6 slot for the phrase “midlife humor”. Interestingly enough, I also get hits for my friend Ang.’s full name. (Umm, Ang., someone is searching the internet for your full name. Just sayin’). And I am number four!! Four, ya’ll!! for “avoiding midlife crisis”. That’s kind of exciting for a little blog where I write about whatever is on my mind, ya know?

All that has happened organically, without me really trying. The fact is that I don’t know what I want to rank high for in the search engines. I think that if I were going to try text link advertising, I might go with “midlife”, because I would like to be higher there. offers that, but I have no idea how much it costs. Perhaps if things slow down, I can give them a call.

See, that’s the other part of the deal for me. I may be in midlife, but this is a fast midlife. Things are not slowing down for me, and in fact, I am busier than ever, and stand to get exponentially busier over the next few years. What would I do with a #1 ranking website? Besides giggle, I mean. I’m juggling as fast as I can already.
