If you are anything like me, and I must assume you are, because really, I can’t imagine the lip gloss princess age group would find much to interest them here, then these days you are probably interested in a swim suit that covers a bit more than the itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie-yellow-polka-dot bikini that you might have worn a couple of decades ago. Notice I said “you”, not “we”, since I have never had a shape that was enhanced by being stuffed into a bikini. “Nuff said on that. Except that round is a shape.

So, where were we? (Darn that rabbit trail-itis again.) Oh yes. Bathing suits. Specifically, the swimdress. I really like the styles on this page, because….well, my thighs, like my mind, are 40. And 40 has been much kinder to my intellect than my legs. Just sayin’. I’m happy with the trade-off and all, but still. You know.

Anyway, I am seriously thinking about a new suit for Vegas. Did I mention Vegas yet? I’m almost sure I did.

I write about a lot of different things on this blog, as you well know, and I don’t often think of how that is going to affect the search engines. I mean, I certainly like ranking high in searches because that means more hits, more hits means more regular readers, etc. Search engine = good. I did check out my keyword hits this morning, though, and was surprised to see that yahoo rated me the number two site for “avoiding the laundry blog”. I’m not quite sure what to think of that. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t get any higher for that term even if I hired a search engine marketing firm. But then again, I’m not really sure I want to. On the third hand, I do spend a lot of time avoiding the laundry, so much so that it’s part of this blog’s title. On the fourth hand, I only have two hands.

Ok, this is too crazy. I just hit publish on my insomnia post, and reached down to scratch my arm while I was thinking about what to do with “shower faucets“. And saw that I was wearing the same shirt I wore yesterday. Which is not that unusual, except that I haven’t gotten dressed yet, because I am staying in to work today. Which means that I never finished changing into my pajamas last night, but climbed into bed anyway. I knew I was tired, but I didn’t think I was quite that tired.

have I mentioned my insomnia lately? I don’t think I have, mostly because it’s not bothering me lately! So, what’s different? There’s nothing new in my room, no new pillows, not one of those modern platform beds, not even new sheets. The only thing that’s changed is what time I get up and go to bed. It seems my insomnia was feeding its own self. Crazy, huh? The solution to insomnia for me was going to bed earlier, not later.

So, I was talking to my mom and uncle last night about my Vegas trip, and you know, it’s not that far away. Soon I’ll be packing, and repacking, and trying to cram all I need into a carry on bag, so I don’t have to check anything. I won’t be using Samsonite luggage for that, because I have to spend too much money buying sample sized this and that for the plane, and I also want a few new things to wear. I’ll just use my old bags to carry my new stuff, cause that’s way more fun anyway!

Bu what is it that makes us want new stuff when we go somewhere? Why isn’t the stuff we wear at home good enough to wear away? Regardless, I’ll be doing some shopping.

So, here I sit on Saturday. Sitting at home on Saturday is not necessarily a bad thing. I have a lot of stuff to do, and I’ve not had the luxury of being home on Saturday for a couple weeks, and so the weeks have been full and I have felt rushed. See, I said it was a luxury, because that’s how I have come to see it. Next month, when I have to stay home, but I want to go somewhere, I’ll have the opposite view. That’s just how I am. I think most of us are that way, really.

As a rule, man’s a fool……

I had a phone call today, and a comment, that reminded me that I was supposed to tell you what was going on with that cryptic post from the other day. So here’s the deal: that volleyball tournament is no longer an issue, nor am I going to be going to Myrtle Beach to walk. Instead, I am organizing The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk for October 13th right here in my home town! The phone call was from the first person the Alzheimer’s Association referred to me. How exciting is that???? I’ve developed a couple of ideas for getting the word out, and I’ll be working on that in the days to come.

In the meantime, there’s been more good news:

My mom has joined my team! And speaking of my mom, it was she who made the comment that made me decide to walk right here in town, so if this fails, we can say it’s all her fault. But I’m sure that’s not going to happen.

Do you get exactly what you ask for? And then when you get it, it just makes your mind spin? That happened to me today. Again. It’s been happening frequently, in fact. I may have to quit asking for stuff if this keeps up. NOT!!!!!!!!!
