Ya’ll remember I was sick and then better? Well, I’m sick again. Apparently I have mastitis. It must have started with the pain I reported back at the end of October. Because I refused to slow down, even though the pain went away, the infection did not. I am now on strict instructions to rest for one week, whether I feel better or not. One week-rest. And as a bonus I got to hear the story of the woman who refused to rest and woke up one morning with her boob so hideously swollen that she ended up in the ER, and then a hospital stay. So, there you have it. “Hidden mastitis” is indeed a real disease. One that will eventually kick your butt. Even if you don’t have one.

OMG – that is painful. I remember when I went to a breastfeeding class before my daughter was born and we talked about it. Very painful. I know someone who had it too – I just can’t remember who. When I remember, I’ll let you know what they did.
