No, not seven pairs of jeans, nor yet size seven jeans. I’m still at eight, remember? I’m talking about the brand name, silly goose! Never heard of them? Well, I confess I hadn’t either until I visited the Seven jeans page. There are a few threads there to get you started.

I Don’t Want to go Here
My dog is in a bad way. She’s just laying in the yard, and she will not get up. Her eyes are very sunken. I think she may even be paralyzed, because it looks like she tried to get up. The spot where her back feet are is dug out. My dog, she is 13 and a half years old. I can’t even sit out there and pet her. I can’t touch her at all. I put water right next to her nose, and she did not even rouse. She’s just laying there, twitching.

Shout Out
I just want to let ya’ll know my mama is a gem. In spite of all she has going on with my grandmother, which you can read about on her blog, she jumped into action when I was put on rest-riction, and has all but finished my Christmas shopping for me. I was thinking I was going to be left staring at empty store shelves the week before Christmas, tired, grumpy and yet-more-stressed-out-that-I-already-am, but she’s just done a bang-up job.
Thanks Mama, and I love you!

Found the right place to complain
Well, looka here. I found the right place to bring up my new stay-at-home-mom sick day policy. Phillips DiPisa is a leading healthcare executive recruiting firm, and they have published a series of articles on hot topics in the healthcare field.
The Phillips DiPisa Thought Leadership Library contains articles on topics such as: hospital succession management, the role of the Chief Medical Officer, and diversity in healthcare workforces. The article on CMO is particularly good, covering the typical failings of the office, and what can be done to ensure that CMOs become and remain to “go-to person when it comes to quality and patient safety”.![]()

Got the voice?
Why would people choose voice acting over a traditional acting career?
Maybe they get nervous in front of people.
Maybe they have a hard time memorizing lines (you can hold your script as a voice actor)
Less preparation time
More freedom of expression
Fun
Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks voice acting would be a better fit for me than traditional acting. Well, as if I have the free time to be an actor of any sort . This blog entry at voices.com discusses some of the reasons mentioned above from the perspective of movie actors. It’s a quick read, but I learned a thing or five.
Dating
This online dating thing has really taken off. I never would have believed it was possible to meet and marry someone online if my own cousin had not done so. Yeah, the same cousin who sent me the political joke a couple days ago.
There are so many services these days, advertising on tv and such, and it seems like each one serves a niche of some sort. Urban Prestige caters to the young professional, with an emphasis on online dating, as well as professional and personal growth. You’ll also find information about fashion, philosophy, health, and future trends on the site.
I even have a coupon (you know I love a coupon). AS101 will get you a free year of Online Dating and Social Networking. Free is good. Love is better.![]()
More government “help”
The UK has jumped on the smoking ban-dwagon, it seems. A quick glance at the laws indicates they aren’t quite as rabid as the ones in California that attempt to even ban smoking outside. (Yeah, I’ll think that’s a fair law when we also ban emissions from factories, etc. Ain’t happening, sweetheart.) Anyway, UK Smoking Law Resource Center can help business owners find their way through the new regulations. Each country in the UK has or is adopting a different law, so you’ll need to be sure to check out the particulars for your locale. That’ll be simple at www.nosmokinglaw.co.uk because the site is well laid out, and very clean to navigate.
I did find it interesting that a pub owner from Scotland has noticed a severe drop-off in business since the ban went into effect there. Duh. Smokers won’t go out to drink (or eat) if they can’t light up. Here’s why: you can buy all the alcohol and food you want and bring it to your house, where you can still smoke in peace (unless you live in California, I guess). Smokers smoke. That’s what they do. It’s my opinion that these laws do nothing to save lives, but merely cripple local businesses. And do you know what a floundering economy does? Yes, makes people smoke to relieve stress. Good luck with that. Let me know how it works out for ya.![]()

Worth it!
Ya’ll my entire house, it is trashed again. Not a clean room in the joint. I/We spent the weekend out and not working. And when I get up from here (I’m pumping), I’m gonna get in that kitchen and cook up a meal that will dirty enough dishes to fill the dishwasher three times. We’re having our family Thanksgiving meal tonight 🙂
We’ll take at least tomorrow, and maybe Tuesday off school to get the house back together (Ha, we seem to make messes right behind ourselves, so it takes awhile, what with the living, pumping, eating, etc). And you know what? It was totally worth it.
